There are two kinds of premium devices in the vaping world. Some of them simply have the appearance of being high-end devices, and others truly go the extra mile to deliver designs or features that aren’t available elsewhere. Is the world ready for a true luxury pod vaping system? The Lost Vape Orion DNA is the world’s first pod mod with the famous DNA chipset, and it is almost certainly the best pod vaping system ever made. It truly oozes luxury in every way – and it’s also significantly more expensive than your typical pod vaping system.
Will people pay the higher price for the Orion DNA, or will they sigh and go back to their Suorin Drops and SMOK Nords? Let’s learn more about what makes the Lost Vape Orion DNA the world’s most unique pod vaping system.

A True Luxury Pod Vaping Device
There’s a trait common to most luxury consumer products. They’re designed with trends in mind, but they’re not influenced by trends to the extent that commodity products are. That’s because a commodity product is one that you won’t keep for long. By the time the trends that influenced its design begin to fade, you’ll be looking for a replacement anyway. True luxury products have timeless designs because buyers might want to keep those products for many years. The Lost Vape Orion DNA has that timeless quality; it’s classic industrial design through and through. The real abalone or carbon fiber side panels are a nice added touch.
Charging and Filling the Lost Vape Orion DNA
When you take the Lost Vape Orion DNA out of the box, the first things that you’ll want to do are charge the device, fill the pod and install the pod. In the bottom corner of the device – below the adjustment button – you’ll find a removable cap that covers the charging port. Charge the Lost Vape Orion DNA via your computer’s USB port; don’t lose the cap!
While the device charges, you can get the pod ready to use. Unscrew the filling cap at the top of the pod and pour e-liquid in until the pod is full. Unlike many refillable pod systems – which are just about impossible to fill without a needle-tip bottle – the pods for the Lost Vape Orion DNA are incredibly easy to fill.
To install the pod, push and hold the switch on the side of the Lost Vape Orion DNA. Line up the pod with the tracks on the inside of the device. Push the pod down fully before releasing the switch.
Lost Vape Orion DNA Review: Using the Device
Ideal Combination of Flexibility and Simplicity
One thing we’ve noticed about pod vaping systems is that manufacturers have clearly had trouble figuring out what to do for users who want more than a simple draw-activated device with one power setting but don’t want to sacrifice the simplicity and convenience that drew them to pod systems in the first place. The Lost Vape Orion DNA might be the first device to really crack the code. Though the device offers some flexibility in its three power settings, changing your power setting is as simple as pushing a single button, so the device is still quite easy to use. With the Replay feature unique to current Evolv DNA chips, you can even ignore the wattage adjustments. We’ll discuss that in a moment.
Huge Vapor Production for a Pod Mod
The Orion DNA has two different pods available. Lost Vape calls the 0.25-ohm pod the “vapor pod” and the 0.50-ohm pod the “flavor pod,” but you could think of them as the direct-to-lung and mouth-to-lung pods, respectively. Given that they’re both sub-ohm pods, they’re no slouches in the vapor production department. While you can certainly use nicotine salt e-liquid with this device, you’re probably not going to want to use a nicotine strength anywhere near 50 mg.
Fully Customizable Airflow Settings
Every Lost Vape Orion pod comes with its own heat-resistant Delrin mouthpiece and airflow adjustment collar. The airflow collar is a vital feature since it makes it possible for the device to support both mouth-to-lung and direct-to-lung vaping styles. The Orion performs admirably in both configurations.
What Is the Lost Vape Orion DNA Replay Feature?
The Replay feature is a completely new vaping technology that you’ll only find in mods with the DNA250C, DNA75C and DNA GO chipsets. Evolv is the company that first introduced temperature control technology with its DNA chipsets, and now virtually every advanced mod in the world offers some form of temperature control. Temp control has some significant limitations, though, and many people elect not to use it. So, Evolv went back to the drawing board and developed Replay.
To use Replay on the Lost Vape Orion DNA, simply take a few puffs on the device until you experience a perfect puff that you’d like to repeat. When you get the perfect puff, press the adjustment button on the bottom of the device and hold it for three seconds. Replay is now enabled. Each time you press the fire button, the Orion DNA will duplicate the temperature characteristics of your ideal puff.
Replay mode is a bit like temperature control without all of the adjustments and fiddling. Instead of trying to get your ideal puff by messing with your device’s temperature setting and preheating wattage, Replay allows you to simply identify your ideal result and let the device perform the calculations necessary to achieve that result every time. Like traditional temperature control, Replay also helps to prevent dry hits. Will Replay become the new must-have feature that temperature control was a few years ago? Time will tell, but people are loving the feature so far. It’s been a great way for Evolv to stand out in an increasingly crowded field, and if you want that feature in a pod mod, you’ll only find it in the Lost Vape Orion DNA for now.
Lost Vape Orion DNA Review: The Bottom Line
You will not find a pod vaping system more advanced – or more expensive – than the Lost Vape Orion DNA anywhere. Only you can decide whether the device is worth the expense for you. If you decide to take the plunge, though, we don’t think that you’ll be sorry. Between the rock-solid design, the stellar aesthetics and the unique Replay feature, there’s plenty here that you won’t find anywhere else.
- Timeless design befitting a true luxury product
- Works for both mouth-to-lung and direct-to-lung inhaling
- Replay feature is like temperature control without the work
The Not So Good
- Very expensive compared to other pod vaping systems
