We’ve always had this feeling deep down that there were more women e-smokers than males. It wasn’t until V2 Cigs, which is one of the largest e-cigarette companies, confirmed that most of their customers were indeed female that we felt our hunch was validated.

The curious thing about this is the fact that, until the release of Vapor Couture, no e-cigarette company had released an e-cigarette targeting women.

At least, they hadn’t until V2 Cigs released the Vapor Couture line.

If you’ve read our review of V2 Cigs, then you may already know that we rate V2 Cigs as one of the best places for beginner e-smokers to pick up their first e-cigarette. Let’s explore how the V2 Cigs Vapor Couture line ranks.

Fashion and Vapor Couture

There’s a difference between designing an e-cigarette to look luxurious and designing one to be a fashion accessory.

You start to have new things to worry about when fashion becomes the main objective of something. Do you sacrifice some function for a sleeker form? Are you going to constantly update your product to stay on the edge of what’s in? How will you package it? Do you put it in something that comes inspired from another successful package or do you start from scratch?

While you might think that making e-cigarettes for women is just a quick money grab, you can quickly see that there’s a large amount of effort that goes into the design process.

Couple this with the fact that anything fashionable has the chance to sink and you can see why the Vapor Couture is such a big risk for V2 Cigs.

Why is Vapor Couture for Women?

The thing that makes Vapor Couture for women revolves around the idea of getting a slim e-cigarette with a stylish look without sacrificing vapor production. Then, add an array of accessories that V2 hopes will appeal to female customers.

The first thing you’ll notice that’s fashionable about the Vapor Couture is the crystal tip that sits in place of where your LED would be on most other batteries.

You then get a variety of colors to clad your refill cartridges in. Vapor Couture batteries are available in four different colors, and every refill flavor is available in each of those same colors. V2 even gives you a page with every possible color combination so that you can make it easy to figure out what color combination you want.

You also get a unique carrying case that we’ll talk about in just a bit.

The Variety of Vapor Couture Kits

An important element to fashion is the accompaniment of a certain degree of choice. V2 Cigs accomplishes this by offering five different Vapor Couture kits starting at $39.95. This kit — the Entree Kit — includes one rechargeable battery, five refill cartridges, a USB charger and a disposable Vapor Couture e-cigarette. At the top end is the Vapor Couture Maximale Kit, which costs $169.95 with the coupon ecigone15 and includes three batteries, 20 refill cartridges, a portable charging case, a smartphone clutch, a stainless steel charm necklace and charging accessories. Separately, the refill cartridges start at $12.95 per pack of five and the smartphone clutch costs $59.95. Vapor Couture also has a sterling silver version of the charm necklace, which costs $149.95 without a coupon.

Once you experiment with the flavors provided by V2 Cigs, you can begin saving money by buying in bulk. You can get 20 cartridges for $44.95, or you can get 40 cartridges for $74.95.

Using Vapor Couture

In the event that you haven’t used an e-cigarette before, then it’s a good idea that we run through how Vapor Couture works.

You should begin charging the batteries once you’ve removed them from the package. You screw the battery into one of the terminals located at the end of your USB charger and then plug the charger in. You can also charge them using the included wall charger.

You’ll know when the batteries are done charging as the indicator light on your charger will light up. You can remove the battery when this happens.

To prepare the cartridges, you just remove the seals off the top and bottom. You screw the cartridge into the end of your battery, then place the e-cigarette in your mouth.

To begin e-smoking, you take a very slow, five-second puff. Remember that e-smoking is different from smoking a cigarette, so puffing harder won’t produce a better flavor or more vapor.

Take it slow and you’ll get the most out of your e-cigarette.

You’ll get about 100 puffs or six hours from Vapor Couture batteries before you have to recharge them again. Cartridges last for about 200 full puffs. This means that, even through most difficult work days that seem to drag on, one cartridge and two fully charged batteries should suffice.

What About the Vapor Couture Clutch Bag?

The $59.95 Vapor Couture smartphone clutch is an add-on available from the website’s accessories section. It’s made from genuine leather and available in four colors.

The Vapor Couture clutch has a hard shell case with a handy mirror on the side. You’ll also find room for two Vapor Couture e-cigarettes, four refill cartridges and your USB charger on the other side. It also holds some credit cards and a smartphone.

The VC clutch works great if all you want to carry around with you are your e-cigarettes and a few other odds and ends or you feel comfortable with toting around an additional bag. Otherwise, you may find that you’ll end up putting the VC clutch inside of your regular bag.

Even though the ability to accessorize may be limited by function when it comes to the VC clutch, it still does a fine job of protecting your e-cigarette and accessories while making it hard to lose them.

Refill Flavors for Vapor Couture

At the time of writing this review, you can choose from six different refill flavors for your Vapor Couture starter kit.

Those flavors are: Bombshell, Rodeo Drive, Fresh Mint, Strawberry Champagne, Arctic Mint and Passion Fruit.

Here’s how we’d describe the four flavors that we’ve tried: Bombshell is V2’s interpretation of what Turkish tobacco tastes like, comparable to Camel cigarettes. Rodeo Drive tastes more like American tobacco, which makes it similar to Marlboro. The other two flavors — Arctic Mint and Passion Fruit — should describe themselves.

Our preferences for the flavors available from Vapor Couture lie with Rodeo Drive and Fresh Mint, the latter of which tastes great for menthol lovers as it has notes of smooth tobacco mixed in with hints of peppermint.

Vapor Couture Review: Our Final Thoughts

Does the Vapor Couture work as an e-cigarette designed mainly for fashionable women? Like beauty, that answer is in the eye of the beholder.

All we can say is that Vapor Couture offers a lot of features in a very small package, which is especially important when you consider that many of those features are absent from V2’s standard line.

You get the signature V2 vapor production along with a variety of high-quality flavors to choose from, but the battery and e-cigarette overall are slimmer, offer a variety of stylish color options and a trendy carrying case.

It’s our opinion that the Vapor Couture is nothing but a success.
