E-Cigarette company PrimeVapor has released a new e-cigarette battery with an interesting feature: it has a colored ring around the end that changes color according to its current charge level. This is something that we’ve seen before in certain eGo e-cigarette models as well as the new iTaste VV by Innokin, but it appears to be a first among smaller cigarette-shaped models.

PrimeVapor calls this e-cigarette the Chameleon; the ring on the end of the battery glows blue when the device is at a full charge. As the charge level drops, the ring changes to green, yellow, red and finally white.

Innovation is always a great thing for the e-cigarette industry. Larger e-cigarette mods often have battery meters and puff counters, but people with smaller e-cigarettes have to guess whether their batteries are charged or remember to charge them before leaving the house. PrimeVapor’s Chameleon battery is a clever idea and I expect other e-cigarette companies to begin implementing similar features soon.
