E-Cigarette Company Web Traffic Share

E-Cigarette Company Web Traffic June 2012During the month of June 2012, V2 Cigs claimed 60.53 percent of all Web traffic among the 73 e-cigarette companies we sampled this month according to estimates provided by Compete.com. While that’s slightly less than V2’s 61.51 percent traffic share last month, the overall volume of e-cigarette Web traffic has grown from 1.3 million hits in May to 1.44 million in June. V2’s raw traffic rose from 799,775 to 874,562 hits. Blu came in second with 7.05 percent of all traffic — down slightly from 7.73 percent but up by 1,356 hits — and Pure Cigs claimed the number three spot.

In June, Pure Cigs came out of nowhere to claim the number three spot with an increase from 1,633 to 69,308 hits — an increase of 4,244 percent. SEO SpyGlass suggests that a massive link building campaign may have taken place; the program reports that the Pure Cigs website has over 15,700 inbound links with a variety of exact match anchor text such as “ecigarette,” “e-cigarettes,” “electronic cigarette” and “best electronic cigarettes.”

E-Cigarette Search Engine Charts

This section of the eCig One e-cigarette industry report lists the top ten domain names displayed on Google’s first results page for the four most popular electronic cigarette-related keywords.

Changes from Last Month

The search term “e-liquid” has seen some of the most dramatic changes since last month, with companies such as Halo and Johnson Creek Smoke Juice dropping out of the top ten to make room for newcomers e-Cig Express, Your e-Cigarette and Vapor Station. Pink Spot Vapors has rocketed to the top position on Google, perhaps due in part to sidewide links from websites such as besteliquid.org, eliquidreviews.org and bestatomizers.com, all with the anchor text “e-liquid.” According the WHOIS information for the domains, besteliquid.org and eliquidreviews.org are also owned by Pink Spot Vapors.
